My husband and I grew up differently when it comes to houses.

His parents have lived in the same house for the last 40 years, able to purchase it after marrying a little later in life. He was born and raised in a sweet suburban neighborhood with gorgeous, mature trees and no fences to block in the neighbor kids. My parents married young and bought a house cheap when I was born. They fixed it up to make a profit and move on and up to another. Wash, rinse, and repeat- I lived in 4 houses during my childhood. I must’ve gotten him hooked on the formula because we’ve moved around 6 times already in our 10 years of marriage! I like to think we take the feeling of home his parents created and try to infuse it where we are.
